About Us
Bruce Summers is the former Administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), where he led national programs supporting the marketing of U.S. agricultural products both domestically and internationally. During his four decades with USDA, Bruce directed a workforce of more than 4,000 employees and oversaw key programs including:
- USDA Market News
- Grading and Inspection Programs
- USDA Organic Certification
- Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA)
- Packers and Stockyards Act
- Country of Origin Labeling (COOL)
- Research and Promotion Programs
He earned his degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Maryland and now resides on his family farm in Virginia. After retiring from federal service, Bruce founded Summers Agribusiness Strategy Group to help clients navigate today’s agricultural marketplace with insight, trust, and practical expertise.
